Calligraphy is a deep interest of mine — so much so that I'm a member of Friends of Calligraphy, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to the study, practice, and appreciation of the lettering arts. Through the group, I've had the privilege of learning from incredible calligraphers including Chris MacDonald, Meredith Klein, the late Claude Dieterich A., and former White House Chief Calligrapher, Rick Paulus.
I currently know three scripts — Copperplate (Engrosser's Script), Foundational, and Blackletter (Fraktur) — and I intend to learn more. I find calligraphy and the act of writing by hand incredibly important as it is truly the root of my passion for graphic design, if not the actual subject itself.
